OUR POLICIES
To ensure the safest and best quality care for your pets our policies are as follows
Vaccinations – All dogs must have up to date vaccinations
City Bylaw – We will respect and promote all animal control by-laws to ensure the safety and well-being of the dogs in our care. All dogs must be licensed with the city of Calgary, if approached by a bylaw officer and your dog is walking without a tag or an expired license the owner will be responsible for any fines and or fees.
Requirements – Every Owner must sign and fill out information forms before your dog can be walked. A complimentary meet and greet is required for all new clients.
Cancellation Policy – 24-hour cancellation is required. Failure to do so will result in a $25 fee
Bookings – Space is limited. Therefore, it is best to plan and book in advance to ensure you obtain the services and dates you desire for your dog. Prior arrangements for pick up and drop off (lockbox, keys, a person at home, and or key entry code) must be made.
Scheduling – We will arrive at your house as close as possible to the scheduled time. Please allow for circumstances that may cause us to arrive a few minutes earlier or later such as traffic, road conditions, inclement weather, last-minute appointments, and cancellations. Time adjustments or time of arrival in no way affect your dog’s walking time.
Confidentiality – We respect your privacy and will never share your information with any third party. Nor will we send you unsolicited emails. If you opt in to have your name and email address added to our mailing list, then we will send you emails and or newsletters relating to our services, updates, special offers, etc. You may opt-out of receiving future mailings from our mailing list at any time.
Keys/Codes. Your walker will obtain a house key, lockbox code, or another form of the agreed-upon entrance from you during the free meet & greet consultation at your home. If you live in a condo/apartment, a necessary FOB or key to the front doors of the building will also be required along with house keys.
Safety – To ensure our safety and minimize risk; If there will be family or friends in your home when we arrive for the scheduled visit please let us know well in advance. Anyone who shows up unannounced will not be given access to your home. Likewise, for our safety if we arrive for our scheduled visit and someone unexpected is in your home we will not enter before speaking with you directly via the telephone. Failure to communicate may result in a non-refundable cancellation of service.
Updates – Please inform us of any changes regarding your contact numbers and your pet’s needs.
Inclement Weather. The service schedule may be changed, interrupted, or altered (including the length of walk-in extreme cold for dog safety) due to these circumstances.
Wet/Muddy Dogs. When we’re out on adventures, we may be caught in the rain or encounter some mud/water. While we do our best to ensure a clean and dry dog before entering back into your home, we do not take responsibility for damages due to dirt or mud being tracked around.
Behaviorally challenged Dogs – We believe every dog deserves the best care regardless of their temperament, any behaviorally challenged dogs will be evaluated and a walking plan can be established.
Refusals. Under no circumstances will we service any pet that has any form of active illness. No exceptions. It is the owner’s responsibility to update their dog’s health condition if anything changes.
Photos/Videos. The client authorizes Kona’s dog pack to take photos/videos of the client’s pet for their file and our website. All photos/videos taken are the property of Kona’s Dog Pack.
Payment – Prepayment is required for the first two walks/services thereafter you will be invoiced bi-weekly. We take e-transfer or cash. All e-transfers must be sent to [email protected] with the password dogpack21
Rates and Services
- Off-leash pack walk (expect your dog to be away 2 – 3 hours) -$25 *($15 per additional dog from the same home)
- Off-leash private walk – 1 hour walking time -$30
- All day care (2 off leashed pack walks) – $40
- 1-hour private leashed walks – $30
- ($15 per additional dog from the same home walked at the same time)
- Pet Sitting – please contact as rates vary as per pet/household needs, etc. (eg overnight average rate $50)
- puppy/pet check-ins – ½ hour – pee break, playtime, cuddle – $15
- Senior dog stroll – 1 hour – $20
- Dog hikes (all-day-12-15k for experienced and well-exercised dogs only) – $45
